I want to by a domain name for my own website. I have no idea which company to buy through.

    Any suggestions?

I checked, Pete. www.felonreporter.com is available.

    Register.com worked for me.

    I used Go Daddy.

I despise the company for purely personal reasons... but it was a good price, and the service was fine.

I have been meaning to move it to a different registrar just so they don't get my money.

I've used doteasy.com for a number of years and have been happy.

Godaddy for mine. I use them for the registering. Fortunately, a college roommate's company hosts and designs it and charges nothing. So godaddy's a great deal for me, not sure what it's like if they also host or design the site.

I used Tripod a bunch of years back and then Yahoo! twice.

I was satisfied with all three.

I'm with Surpass Hosting and they've been good to me so far. My plan allows me to buy up to 10 domain names, although right now I only have one (with plans on another if I can get someone else to do the work).

Don't go with Globat. I was with them for almost three years and got hacked more than a half-dozen times.

I use godaddy. The price is inexpensive and the service quite good.

Depends on if you're going to host with domain registrar or not. I use domaincentral.com for my registering needs and host with webhostingbuzz.com because it was dirt cheap (think it's gone up slightly from what i am paying, but still a great deal i believe)
