Anyone here deliver newspapers?

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Bradley Guire, Feb 25, 2013.

  1. I didn't have to collect, but it was horrible delivering the afternoon paper in Phoenix in the mid '80s, plus late mornings on Saturday and early mornings on Sunday. Sunday's were the worst, as I had to make a few trips back to another kid's house where the papers were dropped off because I could only fit so many big papers in the basket on my bike.

As for rubber bands vs. plastic bags, I prefer the bags.
Tri-fold the paper, put in bag, flatten, twist, tie.
Can do about four or five a minute.
The bag not only protects the paper from the weather, but also makes it easier to load the delievery bag and pull them out.
Made the switch after too many rubberbanded papers were getting ripped from constant rubbing back and forth in the delivery bag. It only sounds dirty.
