Anyone getting stabby tonight? (The V-Day thread)

My wife's brother died and he had neither a funeral nor a memorial service of any sort. Nor an obituary/death notice published anywhere.

My wife comes from good stock.

 

Illegal immigrants?

 

Peeps who keep it real.

 

"Honey, I'm sorry your brother died."

"He spent every day dying. We all do. Big fucking deal."

 

That's fine if that's what they wanted.

That said, the service or whatever is more for the living, than the dead.

 

Just FaceTime'd with the wife and kids. Now, it's sleepy time.

I did, however, send some really nice bubble bath with a naughty note about post-deployment activities.

 

Could he vote or own property?

 

To the wife and kids? That could get awkward. And sticky.

 

Yeah, we've talked about that. Joking aside, I've asked her if she felt like his obsession with privacy, even posthemously, was harmful to her family's ability to grieve properly. She's particularly having trouble with it, from that standpoint, as she wasn't there when he died. She was in labor.
