Anyone flown Allegiant before?

    Only if they go where you want to go. And if you want to go to Europe or Asia, forget about the little guys.

    Postscript: Southwest was running $70 one-way fares to TPA. Sold.
     
  4. Love small airports. Favorite airport to fly out of is Fargo. Using a small Northeastern airport to Orlando in a few days.

    As for Allegiant, it's really getting good use out of Williams Gateway Airport in the Phoenix area. It's out of the way if you need to go to downtown, but great for snowbirds.

    My wife has flown it and it was a fine experience. Just be aware of all the little fees -- as others have said, they pretty much have a fee for everything. We saved $20 or $30 by going to the airport, not much of an inconvenience, to buy her ticket in person instead of purchasing online. Seriously, a fee for everything. So make sure you read all the fine print and are OK with which fees you want to pay.
