To be honest, I think what pissed them off most (and surprised them) was that Whitewater was flat-out the better team on both sides of the ball.

Let's just say lots of scribes in the box were as stunned as Mount Union.

Similar frustrations followed after St. John's beat them in 2003.

The assistant who got the penalty at the end of the game was Kehres' kid, I believe, who's the defensive coordinator.

What I think he was bitching about -- and he had a legit gripe -- was that Jones was given assistance from behind by a teammate on the sneak. Think Bush-Leinart in South Bend.

But you never see that called and you just lose your cool like that.

I thought Mount Union got away with a lot of offensive holding...

I would have to say it sure looked that way to me.

The way Mount Union went for it on fourth down three times in the first half -- getting turned back each time -- certainly showed a bit of cockiness.

And Tony, given you're a UW-W grad you'll appreciate this...

I pulled into gas station to fill up the rental just before returning to my hotel and had to wait in line behind two purple-clad WW fans (father, daughter)...

All they bought was beer, lots of beer.

    The bill: $99.46

Thank God they're not staying in my hotel.

To be honest, they had the variety packs...

After they left the clerks were just laughing.

I had to explain to them that people from Wisconsin don't need a reason to drink and these people had many reasons to get drunk off their asses.

I love it. What a great story.

Ah, the days of drinking beer in Whitewater. Three cases of Fox Deluxe for $10.99 at Steck's.

Heck yeah, but that was Tuesdays from 4-7 when I was there.

Had to have beer for back at the dorm and apartment, too.
