Anybody else having DirecTV problems?

For the third day, I've come home to a blank screen and had to do the "unplug it and wait" reset move.

I called DTV and got some recorded BS about system-wide updates. I finally got a customer service rep on the line. I mentioned I was missing one of my favorite shows and he gave me six months of free sports pack as compensation.

 

Get digital cable.

 

We are too. I had problems today and Mrs. Fear called tonight complaining that the box shut off in mid-show.

 

Sounds like your receiver is on the fritz.

 

I'm about to close the office and go home.
I had best have TV when I get there.

 

Mine's been stuck on Cinemax TBS for three days straight.

 

Muwahahahahahahahaha.

 

The people over at www.satelliteguys.us seem to think it was bad menu data.

The way to fix it is to either reset the receiver (use the red button next to the access card), or unplug it, wait a minute and plug it back in.

 

I agree with IJAG. Get digital cable and be done with it.

 

And give up Sunday Ticket!?!

 

There were issues with some sort of update sent to HR-20x type receivers this morning. I had to reboot both of mine upon arriving home tonight. Ever since the reboot, everything has been fine.

 

It was my take on the Mactards posting that on anyone's computer thread.
