Anybody been to the Normandy Coast?

    Congratulations, HC--that sounds really cool!

    I've been to Normandy, but it was in November. Still, I don't think it gets really hot there.

    If you have time, check out the American cemetery. If you have a little more time, visit the German cemetery a few miles away. Both moving, in different ways. Plus, there's a good museum at Utah Beach.

    And if you like sweet drinks, try the Calvados. Too sweet for me though.

    Congrats, HC. It seems this is quite the accomplishment.

    I'd love to see Normandy. If I ever get stationed in Germany, I'm headed to Normandy for a few days. I just can't imagine what it would feel like to stand on those cliffs and walk those beaches.

    I have a photo of me standing in front of a sign reading "Brest welcomes the U.S. Navy." Acting mature, I'm holding my hands in front of my chest like I'm sporting a rather enviable rack.
