"We Are Marshall." Much better than I thought it would be.

Does Dane Cook tell jokes or does he run around onstage trying to look cool and precious? I gave his HBO thing 15 minutes the other night. The crowd seemed happy, but he didn't say anything that was remotely funny.

I have to admit, I enjoyed Marie Antoinette. Sofia Coppola does a great job of telling a story without having to explicitly tell the viewer what's going on and what she's trying to do. She assumes the viewer will watch, think about it and get it.

It also exposed my pathetic European history knowledge -- although a 2-hour History channel documentary on the French Revolution last night took care of that.

Saw Children of Men this weekend. Unfortunately I had huge expectations and it was so-so. All of the scenes/pieces were well done, but the final product did not seem to fit. So the parts were greater than the sum. Maybe just too glum for me.
