Sports journalists on twitter seemed to know it was coming.
And if they did, you can bet Oakland, New England and the NFL knew about it.

Of course the Pats knew. The keyword in "evil genius" is "genius." And as sordid as this story is, I have to guess their bet is that it's not criminally actionable. In other news, Neymar was cleared and his accuser was charged in Brazil.

Did he allegedly rape her before or after Burfict scrambled his eggs?

I hate AB more than most as a Steelers fan for all the drama and bullshit, but this story reeks. If you got raped, go to the police. Every rose Mcgowan and Asia Argento who remain silent until the terrain no longer benefits them — and that’s the takeaway — undermine the claims of everyone else. This just looks like a spurned side piece.

And if they did know why didn’t they report it? Because they aren’t journalists?

Because the lawsuit wasn't filed till today? They reported it as soon as it became fact.

Wait, some of y’all think an owner who frequented sex slaves is going to suspend AB for this!?!

The story is nowhere on NFL.com.

Exactly. Small Town Journalism 101. Guy threatens suit, not news. When the ink dries on the papers, it's news.

No, because even though they heard rumors, they knew, as any reputable journalist knows, that they needed at least two sources, preferably on the record, or to wait for the lawsuit.
Rumors like this, you don't just run with. Or you shouldn't, if you care about journalism and sourcing and reputations (your own, for starters).
