After ethics issues surfaced regarding land holdings in Nicaragua, U.S. Rep. Jerry Weller (R-Ill.) has announced he won't seek re-election in order to spend time with his family.

At this rate we're going to need a visual aide to keep up with all of them.

In recent weeks, the Tribune has reported about Weller's land holdings in Nicaragua. His spokesman, Andy Fuller, said the reports had nothing to do with Weller's decision not to run again.

Another spectacular splattering of damage control.

Those maps with huge swatches of red are so misleading.

    It's all land, no people.

Kind of like Mars: Big and red, and nobody lives there.

I think that's showing the majority party in each county. It's a bullshit map. If it meant a damn thing, Republicans would win every presidential election 80-20.
