So the San Diego Union-Tribune is now U-T San Diego. So program that into your new glossary, right next to the "Tampa Bay Times."

(apologies if this is elsewhere on the board; hadn't seen it)

U-T San Diego sounds like a branch campus in the wrong state.

Exactly. I thought it was one of the new Big East schools trying to confuse us even more.

Yeah, I thought this was a college rename.
  6. University of Texas at San Diego?

I know the company has disliked the SignOnSanDiego website name for years, but going to UTSanDiego (which also looks odd) is unusual branding as well. And it is awfully close to UC San Diego, which I remember having a cute baseball field when we played the Tritons.

Actually, I think the whole point of this was that the U-T website was actually called signonsandiego.com and now they've changed the web address to the paper name, for instance, and just put everything under one brand.

But, yeah, as much as I always used to refer to the paper as the U-T informally, I really don't like them putting it on the paper's masthead like that. Kinda like "Bolts" on the TB Lightning's jerseys, or D-Backs for the Arizona baseball team. Trying a little too hard to be hip and clever.

EDIT: Editude beat me to the website reference.

... and they added more hours and ... (trumpets) ... a dress code.

    Tennessee, obviously.

This almost seems like a prank.

This guy sees no humor in the dress-code thing.
