That would have been my mom's dream bill back then, but she didn't discover Metallica until Enter Sandman came out a few months later.

Chicago, 1975, Hersheypark Arena. The original. ;)

Went with my buddy, a fullback who had broken his ankle on a sweep the week before. Helping him get up and down the steep stone steps of the Arena was a trip.

Second: Al Stewart and Dave Mason.

    Third: Atlanta Rhythm Section.

I saw the Metallica/GNR twinbill not long after that.

Still one of the best shows I ever saw.

1991, the tri-bill of En Vogue, Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer.

    Envy me now.

When I was 18 in 2001, I saw Blink 182, New Found Glory, Saves The Day and Bodyjar. I've been to 30 or so concerts and it was a very good show, but far from the best I've seen. Maybe in the top eight.

Wow, that's outstanding. I will say, though, En Vogue was hot back in the day, one in particular (can't remember her name).

Mine was Spacehog. The guitarist flipped me the bird and my friend got a concussion when he took an errant elbow to the head during a random fight. Good times.

That was Addams-Family Era Hammer, too.

    Truly spectacular.

And at the peak of the Ice-mania. I was 15.

And you just had to stop, collaborate and listen.

    Sorry. Couldn't resist.

    I'm out of here.

    Word to your mother.

Did Bobby Thigpen finish the show for him?
