Another member of the Chain Gang goes to jail

GLENDALE, Calif. - Nicole Richie pleaded guilty Friday to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced to 90 hours in jail and fined $2,048 by a judge who said she was lucky nobody was killed when she drove the wrong way on a freeway.

Richie, 25, the daughter of Lionel Richie, was subdued and somber as she was lectured about her driving. She entered court on the arm of boyfriend Joel Madden.

She stood before the judge and softly answered "guilty" when asked how she pleaded to the charge.

 

Four days -- out in two if she's good -- for driving the wrong way on a freeway, drunk... hmmm

 

Yeah, big penalty, eh?

 

At least they'll make her eat while she's there.

 

Not true. They'll feed her, but it will be up to her if she wants to eat the mystery meat that Paris turned down.

 

Prison food takes the fun out of binging and purging, I'll bet.

Like I'd let Paris and her VD-engorged lips get within 500 miles of me.

 

She'll get out of it. She's pregnant. She'll get some appeals judge to put her on house arrest.

 

Because the ankle bracelet worked well for LiLo?

 

LiLo's wasn't a court ordered one. It was some private company she was paying to monitor her drinking. She could take the bracelet on and off at will. Not saying that Nicole won't try to sneak about any sort of house arrest, but the two things aren't comprable.
