And I'm not being sarcastic.

It seems like a lot of these guys - J.R. Richard comes to mind, and many others - find that structure in the church.

 

Its not possible for Hamilton's fb page to be any more Jesus-y.

 

He'd be too hopped up on caffeine to work safely.

Yes, she is.

 

Back when I actually ran a business, for a year or so we had a 20s-something recovering alcoholic who worked for us. He drank black coffee non-stop. I mean he never, ever was without a a coffee cup in his hand or by his side.

 

I've never been, but I've seen the folks outside of meetings smoking cigarets with a cup of coffee their free hand.

My cousin is in the program, and drinks a lot of coffee, and the coffee house (he's in Sweden) is where the group heads after their meetings.

 

My friend who relapsed was the same way. It makes you wonder if they're just replacing one addiction with another one, although, I think most would much rather be addicted to coffee than alcohol or drugs.

 

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, to hear Josh Hamilton isn't clean and sober.

Why, next you'll tell me Derrick Rose needs knee surgery!

 

That's exactly what it is. But, replacing one thing with a less harmful thing does nothing to address the underlying addictive behavior/compulsion that created the problem in the first place.

 

Prediction: That marriage will end when the big checks stop coming.
