Another helicopter down off Scotland

    All eight killed. This is getting crazy.

    The story I read said there were 16 on board and eight others were missing.

    I went to school with two brothers, both became military helicopter pilots. Both died in separate crashes.

    The job certainly carries a little more risk, but if you land most of our aircraft flat-side down, you've got a pretty decent chance of survival. Unfortunately, the big killers like enemy fire and inadvertent IMC (instrument meteorological conditions, or popping into the clouds or a dust storm) rarely let you land upright.
