Not as good as the last one, but still pretty cool.

Side note 1: Lloyd Carr used to coach for the team in red.
Side note: 2: The athletic director for the school in white is Terry Sawchuck Jr.

It looked like he got up and either tried to recollect the ball. I can't really see it that well, but if so, that's a bad call on the refs.

Just a few extra bodies on the field, as well. Pretty sure a coach isn't allowed on the field during a play.

This is kind of a crazy football ending, as in Long Beach Poly's 15-year, 80-game Moore League winning streak ending last night after a 21-14 loss to Lakewood.

The first game I ever covered for the P-T was Verbum Dei at Poly in 1989.

The story didn't mention how the game was won until the last graf.

It was in the 2nd or 3rd graf, how Lakewood scored 14 in the 4th quarter, including the winner with 9 minutes to play.

Yep, I missed it, fourth graf.

    Gotta love the comments section:

High School haters. Who knew there was such a thing?

And why does EVERY school whose name begins with a "G" use the EXACT same Packers/Georgia/Grambling font for that "G" at midfield?

That's true about the "G" on the helmet ... I can think of a couple myself. Stinkin' Packers ... :D

And Mustang, it's always fun to see/hear the fine work of high school sports radio/TV announcers (full disclosure: I used to help call games myself back in the day. Hopefully all those tapes have been burned, or more likely, encased in ice.)
