Makes me think about the 2009 SI feature "How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke". Still worth a read. Still relevant. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1153364/index.htm

Somebody hands me $14 million, I'd never spend a dime of it.
I'd live, quite well, off the interest it generated.
Anybody thinks I can't do this?
I dare you to give me the money so I can prove you wrong.

If that's the case, I'd give you the money so you could prove me wrong. I'd rather see someone being smart about their money and setting an example as opposed to someone being profiled for being fiscally reckless.

Likewise, give me $14 million and see what I'd do with it. I'd make a point to be smart about saving it, spending it and investing it. Five years ago, I would have been careless with it ... as I was with much, much less than that.

The attitudes about money in our society really need to be challenged.

Never forget my friend in late 80s saying the guy who makes $1M? He's not going to be satisfied and will want $2M.

Read Millionaire Next Door, those people never spent what they made.

No problem with them. Anyway, if you read the story, these are Californians.

You know what I'd do with $14 million?
Two chicks at the same time.
