Another academic scandal; UNC is f-cked

This piece, written by a former NC Supreme Court Justice, is quite enlightening as to just how corrupt the NCAA adjudication of this case was.
So, just last year, when the NCAA damn well knew we were all awaiting decision on this UNC case, it surreptitiously repealed the provision that would've required it to punish UNC, and purposely created the loophole enabling UNC to escape punishment... How filthy is that?

I'm sure it would have done the same thing for Cleveland State.

I presume they'll quietly re-enact Rule 10.1(b) as soon as a Cleveland State is facing academic fraud allegations.

Such a frickin joke, they just make up and change the rules as they go along to accommodate their favored cash cow programs.

Anyone who runs in UNC circles, how are fans and alums responding to the reprieve and reaction?

Coincidentally, I was in Durham the day the announcement was made, so I know how Dukies felt.

If this is how it's gonna work, Bobby Bowden requests his vacated wins back. Bob Braman also will re-accept his vacated outdoor T&F title (reference included to earn a @SpeedTchr like).

If UNC, Syracuse and Lousiville cheat, then Duke cheats, too.

Notre Dame not too happy about the NCAA's even-handedness ...

NCAA denies appeal on vacated Notre Dame wins in academic misconduct case

So writing papers for a student-athlete enrolled in a real class = bad
Creating fake classes for student-athletes = ok

Did any non-athletes ask the student-trainers to write papers for them?
Maybe it was a benefit available to all students?

It's not even really about the cheating itself. It's that one school discovers and punishes the cheater, then lets the NCAA know it has addressed the issue and gets what is intended to be a stiff punishment.

Another school sets up the system for athletes to cheat, covers it up for decades until it is exposed and isn't punished at all.

Yep. See Florida State reference above.
