I would find it difficult to argue that. I covered her once, in 1999 or so, and she's even better looking in person.

She was always a much better player than people gave her credit for. She had great hands. Flat groundies, and not a very good serve, but very soft touch at net. If she hadn't wrecked her thumb that one year at Wimbledon, it might have played out differently.

 

Is it bad that the reference to Kournakova's great hands and soft touch did not make me think of Tennis?

I think she was 18 or 19 when I covered her the one time. She was not done up much at all, but in her Nike tennis skirt she was by far the hottest woman I have ever seen.
