Actually, he's right. Look at how many movies followed and were successful by borrowing the witty/corny script and sight gags.

 

Thanks Tony. Slappy and Huggy are full of fail, much like Ted Striker over Macho Grande.

 

A few years ago, NBC did a 25th anniversary retrospective of AH, and showed the film. My over-60 mom, who had never seen it, was cracking up laughing.

I enjoy it just because it reminds me of those carefree college days, as opposed to now, with family, job and health pressures.

 

Went right over my head... D'oh...
OTH, my favorite scene in any Airplane movie is Jack Jones singing the Love Boat theme after breaking out of the booby hatch...

And that Jack Jones scene is a fucking riot.

 

It's hard to pick a favorite scene ... but an unconscious Kareem Abdul-Jabbar getting dragged to the back of the plane in his goggles and Laker uniform is a classic.

 

It was this hanging curveball sitting on a tee, belt high. All I did was swing. I couldn't believe Slappy and Huggy swung through it. I hear the GM is about to send them down.
