    Appropriate thread for an old (bad) joke.....

    If we can call the Jaguars the Jags, the Dolphins the Fins, the 49ers the Niners, the Patriots the Pats, the Seahawks the 'Hawks, the Cardinals the Cards, the Buccaneers the Bucs, the Vikings the Vikes, and the Redskins the 'Skins, then how come we can't call the Titans the Tits?

    It might be appropriate if it were a hodgepodge of a page with no markings anywhere about which sport may be referred to, but a lot of sports pages use those kickers for that very reason. So no, really not necessary in the lead.
