He's such a lightweight. Why would they put him on?

    It's like he's playing a 60 Minutes correspondent.

It's a repeat - hell, Politico's story on CNN's struggles was harsh. I don't think Cooper is that bad, but the way CNN launched him as one part Ed Murrow one part Jason Bourne, one part Steve Irwin was a bit much.
CNN's biggest problem is that their shows have no structure.

That's all true. CNN over hyped him, but that doesn't excuse 60 Minutes for hiring him.

He just doesn't have nearly the stature of their previous correspondents.

I laughed out loud at that description.

He is a recognizable name brand thanks to CNN.

My question is who could 60 Minutes have hired who would have had a greater stature/name recognition? You're not getting anyone from MSNBC/CNBC or Fox News, so CNN is probably the only news network they can try to pull from.

What, did you want Morley Safer to race Michael Phelps?

Steve Kroft is considered "the young one" and he's 63. As for racing Michael Phelps, I'd choose Lara Logan.

Ed Bradley (RIP) would've kicked his ass in the bong race.

    I don't even know what that means .... 8)

Anderson Cooper was about as strong as you could get for a while there. The whole AC360 show has made him seem a little more lightweight for sure.

But he's been doing these 60 Minutes gigs since 2006, so it's not like they waited for him to become the second coming of Tim Tebow before they brought him in.

    He's part dead?

Two parts dead, one part fictional.

Put Arsenio Hall on 60 Minutes. Would liven things up a bit, and bring him back into existence.
