    North Dallas Forty, also. Good movie if you can suspend belief and accept hefty Nick Nolte as a wide receiver.

    Can Larry Csonka get an Emmy for his performance in The Six Million Dollar Man?

    What about Dick Butkus? He's always believable as a coach.

    Oops, I thought you said what is the greatest acting performance by a sports figure which transcends its art and enters us into a nirvana-state we can't fathom, we only understand the margins of its sublime pleasures.

    Amazing Grace & Chuck is in that stratosphere.
