That's because fifth graders are easily intimidated...

Hondo, may not hurt to show her the article. Without comment of course.

I didn't mean to imply the kid was at fault for getting shot. However, common sense tells one not to stand in front of a door when some dumbass is throwing rounds through it. You are right — Dad's got a screw loose. Smacking the kid around with a bat was probably good enough.

And if your Dad is 6'4", why are you only 5'? (in heels) ;D

It could have been the first round through the door that hit him.

Technically, he's my stepdad. I'm the family runt though.

    Good points, both.
Now, I'm going to go track down the girls' tennis coach and the cross country coach before I have to go cover a city council meeting tonight. :p

Can't remember who it was -- comic, maybe? -- who claimed the first thing he said to his daughter's new boyfriends was, "Nice to meet ya. You know, I'm not afraid to go back prison."

    Life imitates art.

My dad was tough, but fair. One song he put through college, the other he put through a wall.

What song did he put through college, "Teenage Wasteland?"

I think that was Bill Engvall or Jeff Foxworthy. One of the Blue Collar comedy guys.
