An odd opportunity today

    Could it be they were actually the "home" squad based on a coin flip? I know a lot of tournaments use that format, so that'd be my best guess.

    Huh? Of course it's interesting if a kid is 17 when the game begins and 18 when it ends days later.

    How many games have you attended where a player is one numerical age at the start and another at the end? Not saying you write an expose on it, but many, many ledes have been based on far less interesting topics. Or maybe it's a fun follow note.

    Remember the Marcus Camby game in 1995? He was hurt when UMass' game at Rutgers was interrupted by some protest. When the game was resumed a month later at its stopping point, Camby was healthy but had not been in the original scorebook. So Rutgers got two technical shots, but Camby played, and UMass won.

    EDIT: I looked it up and the game was resumed at the Palestra instead.
