An occupational first ...

    On a trip to cover a game 40 miles to my west about two years ago, the wheel that runs the alternator froze, causing the serpentine belt to fall off. I barely had enough power to get to the school's parking lot. This was on my current ride, a 98 Pontiac Bonneville.

    Two years earlier, in the same town, but on a different car, a 98 Olds 88, the same exact thing happened. :eek:

    Both required tows home and about $800 in unexpected repairs.

    My mom used to make me wear bread bags on my feet, over my socks under my boots, so my feet wouldn't freeze when we played in the snow as kids. Just sayin'....
