Saudi man gets paralyzed by a cleaver-wielding attacker, then asks the judge to have the attacker paralyzed as punishment. The judge is searching for a hospital to perform the procedure, but so far they've refused on either ethical or practical grounds.

Strict interpretation of the Bible. Should appeal to many.

I'm sure the NFL could ship them a list of doctors who would prescribe it. ("It will make you more flexible and pain-resistant!")

Well yeah, but not for this reason.
    That is a deserved punishment.

If you're going to paralyze the dude, why have a hospital do it? I'm sure the victim and his family would be glad to pitch in.

But if they go too far and kill the dude, you then have to have the family of the original attacker kill the person who struck the fatal blow. Except then the scoreline reads one dead person and one paralyzed person vs. one dead person, so you still need a paralyzing to even it out. And that's not counting any ancillary injuries from the original revenge attack. By the time everything finally evens out, you're left with a limbless man, an organless midget and three blinded concubines in the whole town.

No, for that reason. What's wrong with locking the guy up?
