Can't believe there isn't a thread on this already. First reported as a couple of Marines, we now know that it was an Air Force airman, a member of the Oregon National Guard and their college buddy.

Took down the terrorist with an AK. Dudes deserve medals.

I got a nice feeling after hearing that they are from Northern California; true heroes. Maybe they can start reversing the perception that Americans are just arrogant, self-centered visitors abroad.

Good for these guys. Legit heroes.

I just hope this doesn't lead to copycat heroes attacking law-abiding American citizens exercising their right to carry assault rifles.

The initial reports said that one of the US service members (incorrectly identified as a Marine) had been shot in the neck.

As it turns out, Airman Spencer Stone was stabbed in the hand/thumb. But, he did save the life of the guy who was shot in the neck by applying pressure to his artery, and preventing him from bleading out. He did this after he and his friends subdued the would be terrorist.

    Pretty fucking amazing.

All American men hoping to score with the Euro ladies can return home. These guys have it covered.

Couldn't help but wonder if they couldn't have gotten these guys a jacket or two before they went to the Elysee Palace. Nothing like having the Legion d'Honneur pinned on your golf polo.

This is one of the reasons I don't think there will be another 9/11 style attack (using transportation as a weapon, or on a train like this one) in America for at least a generation. If someone tries something, Americans are going to do whatever they can to stop it. They won't be sheep riding to their doom again.
Good on these guys for taking that spirit abroad.
