    I do know this … 12 of the previous 14 Belmont winners had raced previously over the Belmont oval. In a sport where 17-18% winning means success for trainers, why would you not wager on that angle, and at a price?

    I don't think his chances are very good. I mean, he's only got two legs and the other competitors have four.

    (Even spells it the same way.)

    Yeah, all the Derby advances I read were talking up how historically strong the field was. And a lot of those horses skipped the Preakness.

    2:26.65, 15 lengths behind Secretariat's time -- but the second fastest Belmont ever.

    Sorry, while it was a good run, beating 7 horses to win the Crown is just not that impressive. The Derby seems to be the only field that isn't watered down these days. Glad to see it in my lifetime, but ... meh.
