    Incredible performance, but the race was over before it started, when Smooth Roller and Beholder were scratched.

    We'll never know if he was good enough to beat Beholder or not, and that's the way it goes. You can only beat those who make it into the starting gate. I think AP is the best of a bunch of mediocre 3-year-olds; all the other horses in the Kentucky Derby are 5-for-36 since then and none of them has won more than once since Churchill Downs.

    Dortmund is a very good horse and will continue to get better from that crop. We'll see about the rest. Firing Line was my Kentucky Derby horse, but he is fragile. We'll see if he ever makes it back.
