    What it really is: The military industrial complex Eisenhower warned us about.

    RE: Soccer jokes. Love them.

    Mark Whicker once wrote a column (during a World Cup) in which he made a series of suggestions for broadening its appeal in the United States, each making the, well, sport more and more like Merican football, the final one being to make the ball pointed on both ends.

    Well, if you let the players use their hands, it would make it easier to throw the ball.
