Amanda Beard in Playboy

Not at first, no, of course not.

But I eventually started reading it and that was a good thing.

There's nothing in modern journalism quite like the Playboy Interview at its best ... but I've been disappointed in the choice of interviewees in recent years, and my perception that the interviews have gotten shorter.

There are short stories (!) I have read there, some of which haunt me at some level even now.

But the magazine doesn't really know what it wants to be any more. Hard to appeal to both the men who read it during the Golden Age while also bringing in the lad mag crowd and the just-turned-19 frat boy.

 

She looks stellar for being in her late 30s.

In fact, her mug looks a little like Cowherd's:

 

when you're "reading" playboy do you care about the face?

 

She doesn't do anything for me.

Neither does Cowherd.

 

Nothing for me either, just asking the question

 

Was thinking the same thing, except I never pictured Cowherd.

 

No way. I'd be afraid she'd want to talk college football afterward.

She does have unusually sharp facial features (kind of like say, Maria Shriver), but she's got great eyes and a swimmer's legs and butt are hard to top. I've seen some photos of her that are somewhat unappealing, but overall, I'd go Ludacris-style on her:
"Let me give you some swimming lessons on the penis/
Backstroke, breaststroke, stroke of a genius...YUPP!"
