Amazing how much salaries have changed since the early 90s. I would've guessed Robertson made far more than 12m, he'd be making that in one season if he played today.

And, you're right, Antoine Walker is the most amazing example of all. According to his BR profile (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/walkean02.html), Walker was paid nearly 110 million dollars in just salary (lord only knows how much more in shoe contract/endorsement dollars) between 97-09, and then we learn this summer that he's broke and unable to pay his debts.

The guy didn't even need a retirement period, he somehow pissed away more than 100M in earnings before he'd even finished playing. I know he's a casino addict and all but, good god, you'd think somewhere there would've been an agent, accountant or someone telling him to stop.

 

Stoney, in many cases, the agent and accountant are part of the problem.

 

When the sign is from a prosecuting attorney, and not the Goodyear blimp, that's not good.
