Although it's pretty dog-gone early, Katia looks like it's headed for the East Coast, possibly the Northeast.

Who cares? They don't play college football up there.

By "East Coast" did you mean Nova Scotia and Newfoundland?

Thought this storm wasn't going to be coming near land this time?

Anyway, guess how far from the ocean I'll be at the end of the week?

I was thinking more along the lines of Maryland to New York, but that would be even better.

Usually storms will brush up against or near the Outer Banks and then steer back to the northeast. Hopefully that remains the case. Next week I'm going somewhere in that area you just mentioned Three Bags, and I'd hate to have to leave any sooner than I already have to.

The computer models have this one staying out at sea, and historically most storms following a similar path to Katia at this time of year have stayed out.

Nothing to get worried about just yet.

Any storm that hits will obviously be overhyped.

If it hits North Carolina it will be a bad storm. If it heads toward NYC it will be THE BIGGEST AND BADDEST STORM OF ALL-TIME!!!! :D

Especially if it closes in next Sunday ... the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
