They can always recreate "Celebrity Bowling" and let Jed host again.

Dooley, you brought up a good point. After I read the announcement, I went scouring around YouTube to watch some old openings of both shows (my Grandma was a Y&R and AMC fan, I was a OLTL fan), and I ran across a clip from CBS News on the day when "Love of Life" was cancelled and aired the final show on Feb. 1, 1980.

A young Jeff Greenfield did the story and explain why LOL was being whacked. The reasons given are similar to the past two years with soap operas.

By the way, I was a huge Erika Slezak fan. Sorry Susan Lucci.

It was kind of interesting. One of the stories said that part of the reason ratings were so down was because women have to work because the economy is so shitty.

So I blame Obama for this. :D

Truthfully, I don't give a shit. The extent of my soap knowledge is knowing who Luke and Laura and Erica Kane are.

If Days of our Lives gets canned, maybe NBC could extend the Today show until 4 p.m.

I wonder how loaded Kathy Lee and Hoda would be by then.

ABC is going retro and bringing back sports in the daytime with reruns of Battle of the Network Stars weekday afternoons

I blame the DVR - now shows don't have to just compete with other shows in their time slot - they have to compete with every other show on TV.
