    My parents loved the song and they were in their 50's when it came out. My mom smoked dope at the time :) Kiddin...just kiddin....

    I have 27 eight-by-10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one that show Alice's Restaurant is greatness.

    I inherited this song from my parents, who were of this age when the song came out. The noon playing was indoctrinated early.

    Although Alice's Restaurant is a nice spoken-word song for Thanksgiving, that I can appreciate and that has become a nice tradition on classic rock stations, it's time to add a new tradition to go with the old.
    I'd nominate Dan Bern's "Thanksgiving Day Parade"
