Albums You Forgot Were That Darn Good

So, I go to my parents last weekend and they're having a yard sale.

My dad says, "There's some stuff of yours in there. See if you want it."

So I sift through a shoebox of CDs and there's Stone Temple Pilots - Core. I bought it when it first came out in 1992.

I took it back. I put it in my car's CD player and I don't think I've taken it out yet. I forgot how fuckin' awesome this CD was/is.

Anyone else have similar "forgotten albums" in their midst? This ever happened to anyone else?

Hootie and the Blowfish - Cracked Rearview Mirror

also, whenever I go a long time without listening to Nevermind and I put it in the CD player, I get pretty fired up.

Wow. This is weird. This is the other CD I took back from my parents.

    Eurotrash Girl is awesome.

Wait, I'm an idiot. I took back Kerosene Hat.

That one's awesome, too. The self-titled one is the one with "What the World Needs Now," (you may know the riff and not the song) and every track on there is five-star.

Garbage 2.0. I downloaded it the other day after Special came up on my iTunes.

Yeah, I used to have that one. Now I'm wondering where the hell it is. Maybe my parents sold it before I got to town!

I'm sure no one's heard this one, but I threw in the self-title album from Showoff a couple weeks ago and was blown away ... again. I hadn't listened to it since the first year or two of college, and I was really floored. It was in the player for about a week.

There was a song on Core I think it was called like "Cracker Man" maybe? Absolutely rocked the house with it in college whenever the beer started flowing. It was one of those songs you blasted that was an indicator that it was now officially on - our version of Red Auerbach's victory cigar.
