    "Only" 19 mil? AA may be head of the class among airlines. Southwest, long a paradigm of thrift, lost $91M in the first quarter.

    Most Alaska flights are up and down the West Coast. Easy to just do carryon if you're not staying someplace for a week.

    Alaska has been a very solid airline, in my experience with them.
