I'm surprised UAB didn't get the death penalty for Alabama's violations.

So Bama gets a slap on the wrist for a minor violaton.

And nobody outside of Alabama really cares.

Cleveland State's basketball coach just kicked his cat and doesn't know why.

Wasn't this technically considered a "major" violation?

    Not that it matters.

Yes, but only because Alabama was still in the five-year "repeat violator" window from its last NCAA case (2002) when all this started (2005).

NCAA upholds original penalties. Alabama forced to vacate 21 wins from 2005-07 over textbook violations. That's all 10 from 2005, all six from 2006 and five from 2007 (only ones that stand are Tennessee and Colorado):

I love reading the comments at the end of those Alabama stories, but for this one, do you even need to read past the first one? I think not.

I feel so sorry for Nick Saban. Seriously. Honest.

    Fixed.

Neither here nor there for this story, but a few months back I attended my grandmother's funeral in western Alabama. Between the service and the interment, we went to a local bbq joint and there were pictures of a bunch of Bama players and coaches, one of which was St. Nick. I said something like, "oh, look, Nick Satan." The look I got from my aunt would have frozen lighter fluid.
