George W. Bush’s blunt assertion that a Democratic victory in the Nov. 7 elections means “the terrorists win and America loses” misses the point that Osama bin Laden stands to advance his strategic goals much faster with a Republican victory.

So Fredo got it wrong. If the Republicans win, the terrorists win.

Hate to break it to you this way, but we lose no matter what. Al Queda isn't making rational think tank decisions. They hate what America stands for whether it is Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan in the Oval Office. And they are going to keep coming after us, when they have their chances. Don't delude yourself into thinking that either party--which are just part and parcel of the same pork barrel, gridlock way of doing things--makes a shitload of difference to a bunch of religious zealots who want to destroy us. It's all the same shit, in more ways than this.

Al Queda isn't making rational think tank decisions -- Neither are we.

They hate what America stands for -- I thought they hated all-non Muslims no matter what. Couldn't we be Puritans and be in the same boat with these folks?

Muslims could learn a lot from Puritans -- "hey, if we burn them at the stake instead of slicing their heads off, they'll suffer a lot more before they die!"

I can say that, because my ancestors were Puritans who apparently liked their witches well done.

  5. Maybe not, but they did want to tie us down in a quagmire in their own region of the world, the way the Russians got stuck in Afghanistan, and they did want out military out of Saudi Arabia. They got both those wishes.

    So it's a win-win.
