Does the line begin with Lee and Rodriguez and work its way down?

It's Cliff Lee, and it's not a discussion.

And Rodriguez doesn't even belong in the top 5. It's Lee. End of thread.

If anyone -- ANYONE, including K-Rod's mother -- votes for someone other than Cliff Lee to win the Cy Young, they should be instantly banished from press boxes. It's simply not close. Most wins in all of baseball, least losses in all of baseball, lowest ERA in all of baseball, second-most innings in the AL, tied for third-fewest walks in the AL. And all for a shitty team. He has dominated like a 14-year-old Danny Almonte against real Little Leaguers.

Five wins against the Royals have generously padded some of those stats... but your point remains valid.

If we're playing that game, throw out K-Rod's 20 saves against his shitty competition in the AL West.

It's ok, dude. That was anti KC, not anti-Lee.

It does have to be Cliff Lee. This is one time even I can see there's no need for discussion. Roy Halladay second and maybe Mike Mussina third.

But Casty, where does Rodriguez figure in? Don't those saves mean anything?

Thigpen finished fourth in the Cy Young voting, behind three 20-game winners. Sounds like right about where K-Rod should finis if Mussina and Halladay win 20.

Those saves mean a lot, drip. It'll get him a Rolaid's Relief man award and allow him to finish about fifth in MVP balloting, but it shouldn't win him a Cy Young. But that's just one man's opinion.

Well let me throw this one out to you Casty, what is the difference in the year that Rodriguez is having and the years when reliever like Mike Marshall won the Cy Young?
