Then it all goes downhill from there.

How do you feel about free seats in the press box? Isn't the team footing the bill for your seat, when they could be selling to a fan? Should writers have to pay for press box meals? How about sodas? Or bottles of water?

If you're going to be an absolutist, then I hope you're offended by these horrific breaches of ethics as well.

Don't forget that parking pass at the stadium or arena, either.

It may be next door or two blocks away, but if it's reserved and someone else is paying but you're not, then as an absolutist (great word, Inky) you should include that on your list.

Oh yes, parking passes should go ahead of press box seats and free food. At State U., I know guys who pay donate $500 per season and their spot is farther from the stadium than the media lot.

It's just not right that Atlanta has an NHL team and Winnipeg doesn't. It's just not right.

You sure you want to put your whole paycheck on the line like that, Ace?

Maybe Winnipeg will get the Thrashers. Seriously. Or the Preds.

    Distinctly possible.

I'm honestly surprised that the AJC is covering the Thrashers on the road at all. They haven't covered Georgia basketball on the road for at least two years, I think.

Even worse, the Banner-Herald has stopped going on the road to Georgia basketball games, even at Auburn and Tennessee. I realize the team sucks, but it's still the second- or third-biggest sport on campus. And they've set a terrible precedent if the program does get turned around.

So you're not a big fan of the press traveling on air force one either?

    Or maybe not.
