    Thank goodness for vehicles with manual transmissions.

    Good to hear that you got out with a relatively inexpensive repair, Killick. Now to hope my manufacturer will honor its word and replace a faulty part that I can't do myself ...

    Stay away from Aamco. Aamco farms out some of their work to other transmission places, and then marks up the price.

    Ask a mechanic who does not do transmissions who they would have do their transmission to get a good reference.
