Ah, About That Vote I Cast...

  1. Please don't tell me you're believing this "most liberal senator" National Journal crap?
More liberal than Bernie Sanders, an actual Socialist?

Me neither, especially because it's consistent with what he's said all along -- that he's willing to cross the aisle to find solutions to problems. And if the best people for positions happen to be across the aisle, so be it.

    I don't mind this either.
Don't you WANT the best possible people instead of cashing in favors?

Do you really believe he'd do it? I don't. I have no doubt he's more sincere about it than GWB was eight years ago, but it'll be politics as usual. Maybe he'll throw a bone or two to the GOP, but it'll mean nothing.

  5. And he will gain nothing politically.

I actually believe it. And I believe it would mean something. There's nothing to indicate he's spewing lines simply to collect votes.

Now if Hillary said it, I probably wouldn't be as prone to think it. I probably would see it your way, as business as usual.

I guess I don't mind it if they really are the right people for the job. After Dubya's rampant cronyism (i.e. Brownie), anything would be better.

Right, I don't think he's lying to us. But I think once he really has to do it, political reality will take over. This guy worked hard for me, he deserves this. If I don't pick that guy, these other people are going to give me a hard time about health care. That kind of thing. Who's owed, who needs to be appeased to keep peace in the party.

    Bullshit Fenian.

As long as liberals, like conservatives, run from trying to build bridges, you might as well blow them up. You're no better than what you describe.

You mean that Kennedy guy who has teamed with Orrin Hatch on numerous bills? Gotcha.

Amen. It's shit like that which makes Fenian and his ilk part of the problem in this country, as much as disphit daily kos and the like and Ann Coulter and all the GOP hacks.
