Looks like more newsroom layoffs coming to Advance/Newhouse newsrooms, but print production won't change...

Not surprised to see this... wondering if new positions will be created ala the other Newhouse models, with the chance for employees to re-apply.

Also not surprised to see print schedule not changing. With all of the New York papers across the river and the other papers in the area, trimming back from seven days wouldn't work.

Sports added about four or five blogger positions recently. I wonder whether sports will be impacted.

In case you didn't see it, Columbia Journalism Review ripped Advance's business model for online journalism: http://www.cjr.org/the_audit/the_oregonian_bureaucratizes_t.php?page=all

If DFM is Unbolting, is Advance Media Unscrewing?

There is no business model for online journalism. If there was, people would copy it and we wouldn't be having these discussions.
