Nearing 400 home runs. Nearing 2,500 hits. May get to 3,000. Couple of Gold Gloves.

I think he's actually starting to hone in on stone cold lock.

    What say you guys?

Jonah Keri argued his case earlier this year: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/73424/the-often-underappreciated-adrian-beltre.

Three-time all star. Top five in MVP voting just twice in 16 seasons. 376 HRs, 2,425 hits during the greatest offensive period in baseball history. He'll have to avoid any decline and maintain his career average of 151 hits/season for six more years to reach 3,000 hits, so don't count on that milestone getting him in.

I really like Beltre, but I don't see him as an HOFer.

Not yet, but another year or two like the last one could change that.

I agree. I see him as an accumulator. Never dominant, but very good for a long period of time. I remember him more for signing big contracts and not meeting expectations, at least earlier in his career. He will have to hit 500 HR and/or 3,000 hits to have a legitimate chance to get in.
