Make absolutely, 100 percent sure that the friend living with you is on board before you do this.

Dude, I'm totally a cat person.

Having said that, I agree with Flip. Don't try to make someone who's not willing to care for a pet do so.

Stud with garlic and rub with cracked black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper and dried mustard.
Sear to get some color, and then cook at 400 degrees for 20 minutes per pound. You want it pink in the center.
Let it rest before carving. You don't want all the juices to run.

Flip and Forever: That's a good point that I didn't mention. He's actually been wanting to get one for months himself, so he's thrilled with the idea.

Travel is another good thing to think about.

Thanks for the feedback...after more consideration, this is almost a done deal. I meet him on Saturday morning :D

Good idea to meet him first before you commit, just so you can get an idea about his personality. I haven't met many dogs with personalities I didn't like, but you never know.

Serve with red beans and rice.

Bucky, you are not allowed near my dogs.

Funny. I too have a friend looking to have someone adopt her dog. I'm not sure what to do. Check out the picture:

    Nice move, 'Beetus.

Since you're ready for it and all that comes with it, that's a good thing you've done.

Here's to a long, happy life.
