Getting rid of overpriced employees seems a bit harsh to me.
I doubt they are overpaid and "getting rid of" implies that papers don't need staff.
Are you buying into the management bullshit?
I have more respect for my fellow workers than to construct a sentence like yours.

Rumor has it that 10 in the newsroom went this time, making about 30 total on the editorial side in less than a year. That's a pretty big chunk. Another sad day.
