Kate Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager, though for me she'll always be Janet Eldridge on Cheers) narrated a film called The Principle, in which she says "Everything we think we know about our universe is wrong." Later finds out that the film argues for geocentrism, a.k.a. Fuck Galileo.

The Kansas State Board of Education fails to see what the issue is here.

Wasn't Janeway assimilated by the Borg at one point? Or was that Picard? Whatever. Maybe the Borg wasn't so smart after all.

That was Picard. Could have happened to Janeway, too, for all I know. Didn't really care for Voyager.

She should sue, asserting the copyright of her own performance.

It worked for the actress in Innocence of Muslims:

I was told on another thread that science is tentative and, thus, essentially worthless.

So this theory is just as valid as any other, no?

Short answer, both she and Picard were assimilated. Long answer, that depends on how nerd you want to go.

Yeah. We all know the Earth revolves around the Sun because a "consensus" of scientists says so.

Is that why we know evolution is a fact, as opposed to Adam and Eve?

Secret cabal of scientists took a vote somewhere?

You mean the "Theory of Evolution"? :)

    And, no. That's my point.

Science is not about consensus. It's about evidence. It's about proving a theory.

That the Earth revolves around the Sun is not an accepted fact because of a consensus of scientists, it's because of evidence of such presented by scientists.

As opposed to evolution, of course, where scientists refuse to present evidence. Assholes.
