About what are you a snob?

Hitting Comiskey for the first time next summer, so I'll make sure to get a lower-level seat. Thanks for the heads-up.

FWIW, the Vet was the only place I've ever been where I bought a field-level seat ... and they wouldn't let me go to the upper deck (because it was so fucking empty)! Idiot Philly ushers.

If you get to Comiskey early enough, you can go to the elevated "party deck" directly behind centerfield and grab one of the best seats in the house, regardless of where your field-level ticket is. And the best part is that right below the deck, there's a beer stand, so you never have to stand in a long line.

You and I would be best friends. Or we'd hate each other. But we'd definitely whomp some ass in movie trivia.

    Cards and poker chips.

I host poker tourneys at my house and I can't stand to have common paper cards (only plastic for me) and I have to have chips in the standard casino colors for their denominations. Once I played somewhere they were using whites for $5 and reds for $1 and I almost had a seizure.

    Manners.

There are times I feel that there's a whole group of people out there who were raised by wolves.

Maybe that's not snobbery, just, well, basic expecations.

I'm snobbish about snobs. Seriously, some of the snobby girls we get right of out college just makes me want to drag out my inner redneck.

  9. I must say I'm snobby a about where I grocery shop. I almost downright refuse to shop anywhere but Publix. I second the Walmart thing. I only go out of desparation or in the middle of the night. Target is much better.

I also refuse to patron Wal Mart. Depressing, ridiculous, lines, I shouldn't be able to buy all these things in one place, I just can't go there...Also hate bad punctuation. I kid. But my real snobbery involves good cheese. Cannot do Kraft American Singles. Must have good freakin' cheese. I like wine, but won't be a complete snob about it. Biggest pet peeve: people that don't tip well-even if the service sucks. I can't bring myself to throw down 10 or 15 percent. Just can't. Dumb, but I waitressed in college. Tough gig. Tough job. Tough customers.

Rude people: I tolerate them - barely. But push me over the edge and it gets ugly in a hurry.

Music - Numerous witnesses ... at least for real listening purposes. When it's white and/or background noise, it's not such a big deal.

Audio/video setup - No defending this ... just used to setting up halfway decent systems. I've seen easy ways to make improvements to even mediocre systems and such. That's kinda fun if it's another person's stuff who isn't territorial about it.

Sunglasses - Been wearing Ray-Ban aviators since I dumped the prescription glasses. No point in ruining my eyes with cheap glasses letting in the UVs and other harmful junk.

There are others I'm conveniently forgetting. Yes, I'm a terrible, terrible person. Run. Fast. Now.

Another one -- partially in thanks to Sam's post -- is AV equipment. My current gig is setting up AV for various hotels for conferences, meetings, comedy acts, etc... and I've become so anal about taping down XLR cables, running XLR cables, sound quality and such that seeing something at a different place makes me snobbish...
